Roy's show is a hodgepodge of other, mostly Pacifica radio, shows.

Which specific show do you like?

I love his show, he has great taste.

But he just picks other shows he likes and plays them. It's true, trust me.

Is Roy still on his meditation kick? Somewhere in about '94 or so he stopped playing all the real off the beaten path stuff and started playing more and more meditations... I mean, that's cool and all, but it wasn't what I wanted to listen to for the whole show.

It's probably some kind of sneakering trick by those sneaky trickering tricksters, and they're no good tomfoolery.

Roy plays a variety of things, including dharma talks and yes, some "meditation" tapes. My favorite night is Wednesday, when he plays Dave Emory's "For the Record", an education on the "Fourth Reich". Tuesday nights are also cool. He plays a show or two from Gary Null, rebroadcast from WBAI, NY, and then has Gary live. Very educational.

Actually, it was Roy of Hollywood who introduced me to my favorite teacher, Alan Watts, and for that matter, KPFK. He plays Alan Watts two nights a week, Monday and Thursday.

Gotta give it up to Roy. He's been the sole programmer on KPFK from 12-5am for like 30 years. Wow.
